Mobile Industry Veteran to Spearhead Company’s mHealth Initiatives & Strengthen Industry Relations

Boca Raton, FL (PRWEB) April 29, 2010 — 3Cinteractive, a leading mobile platform company, announced that mobile industry veteran John Styers has joined the company as Vice President of Corporate Strategy and Industry Relations. Mr. Styers will be responsible for strengthening 3Ci’s carrier and industry relationships, as well as spearheading 3Ci’s mHealth initiatives.

“John Styers has an incredible track record in the mobile industry,” said John Duffy, 3Cinteractive’s CEO. “John’s carrier background, experience and industry relationships he has in the mobile ecosystem make him an invaluable member of our team.”

Mr. Styers’ focus on mHealth will cover two areas — sales and business development, as well as industry relations with organizations such as CTIA, who are heavily advocating the utility of mHealth solutions. Mr. Styers believes integrating mobile communications into healthcare is a win for everyone involved — providing immediate improvements in patient care and dramatically reducing costs for the industry.

3Ci’s mHealth solutions expand the dialog between patient and healthcare provider, well beyond the walls of the examination room,” stated Mr. Styers. “We are focused on solving everyday issues with the device patients already own. This includes appointment alerts, staffing solutions, clinical trial communications, et cetera.”

Prior to joining 3Cinteractive, Mr. Styers co-founded Moblico in April 2007 to provide mobile industry consulting and development services.

Previously, Mr. Styers was the general manager of the Sprint Mobile Media Network. In that role, he guided the development and positioning of Sprint’s growing mobile advertising, search and off-portal content strategies. Prior to becoming GM, Mr. Styers led the development and design of Sprint’s Messaging as director of Data Communications. Before joining Sprint, Mr. Styers was the Global Director of Operations and Finance for Crown Greetings, the mobile division of Hallmark Cards. Mr. Styers’ expertise makes him a frequent speaker at MMA events, 3GSM, the Global Messaging Congress, and CTIA.

Over the past several years, we have seen the Mobile Marketing space grow with many companies entering the mobile marketing SMS (short messaging services) space. Being a mobile platform or mobile marketing company is a lot more than just saying you have a mobile platform or service — there are a number of areas and expertise that a company needs to offer beyond just features and functionality in order to support a client in launching a mobile initiative, such as: working with government agencies, producing and providing documentation to wireless carriers, managing compliance, as well as providing 24×7 client and technical support.

One such company, 3Cinteractive (www.3Cinteractive.com), with close to 100 clients, is a pure-play mobile platform firm. Unlike other companies who are just getting into the mobile marketing arena like Exact Target and Lyris (and these companies do offer outstanding capabilities in email automation and marketing), 3Cinteractive’s entire focus is helping their clients grow revenues and cut support costs. Clients like Walgreens and Cracker Barrel are showing real business results by developing a relationship with their clients through something that is always with them — a mobile phone.

Text Me to Reach Me: Texting is how to reach clients, colleagues fast (South Florida Sun-Sentinel)

I recently received a text from a phone number I didn’t recognize, so I ignored it. But more recently, it worked. The text got my immediate attention because it was someone I needed to reach for a project.

How essential is texting for business? Texting may be the new lifeline to clients, customers and colleagues you need to reach — now. More businesses owners and professionals are using texting to reach people who are too busy to check e-mail or disinclined to answer the phone.

“It’s the fastest, quickest way for my clients to reach me,” says Fort Lauderdale career coach Debbie Benami-Rahm. When clients spot a job posting and needs her to review it, they text her with a link and she tells them whether it’s a match.

She sends “confidence boosters” via text before clients go on job interviews and later messages them to find out how the interview went.

Jason Welch, managing partner of R.I.C. Search in South Florida, says his recruiting firm limits the use of instant messaging. He may send a text to let a job candidate know he needs to talk to them or request they read a time-sensitive e-mail.

But some businesses find that texting is becoming essential to reaching their workers in the field.

At Interim Healthcare in Sunrise, nurses receive text messages letting them know about staffing opportunities. “They can send a text message in real time to potential candidates as opposed to picking up the phone and calling one by one,” says Mike FitzGibbon, president of 3Cinteractive, a Boca Raton firm that provides the texting system.

Without the texts nurses working in home healthcare might not know when a patient is being discharged from the hospital, might miss policy changes, and could lose a chance to fill an open shift, says Linda Schaub, who heads marketing at Interim Healthcare.

Improve Recruiter and Staffing Response Times Using Text Messaging

Apr. 2nd 2010

Short messaging service (SMS, also referred to as text messaging) is proving to be the most cost efficient and productive way to reach the candidate base of recruiting and staffing companies when it is a race to fill their requirements (REQS).

It’s important to remember that text messaging programs are not about sending “mass” text messages (especially within the recruiting industry), but rather targeted messages to candidates who are “opted-in” and want relevant job alerts sent to their mobile phone. After all, one of the core benefits of text messaging is that most people have a cell phone and carry it with them all the time. So when recruiters or staffing companies send a text to candidates or consultants / contractors, a quick response is highly likely.

Compare the response time of SMS with email. Not everyone checks email frequently, and not everyone has email capability on their mobile phone. Another consideration is the fact that with email the message can be filtered as “spam” and wind up in the junk mail folder or trash folder. This doesn’t happen with text messages.

Mobile messaging is a true mix of art and science to ensure brand compliance, carrier compliance, and that a staffing companies’ mobile programs are effective.

By integrating SMS into a current customer relationship management (CRM) / applicant tracking system (ATS), staffing companies can control and track the messaging, as with their other recruiting activities. Metrics can be measured and so can the two-way messages between the candidates / consultants and the staffing firms.

To have a truly effective mobile program, it is vital to look at how mobile can create efficiencies, solve business challenges, and help staffing companies communicate with their consultants / contractors and candidates.
